This birthday girl needs a new home

Name: Zeba. Feel free to change my name. Some teachers sit students alphabetically, and I don’t want to get stuck in back of the class at dog obedience school. Plus, I’ll be on the last page of the phone book. Which is why you see so many companies with names like AAA Plumbing.

Ethnicity: I’m a black and tan Terrier gal. I’m lean and trim at 21 pounds. I still fit in the collar from my first birthday party.

Birthdate: April 13, 2013. Well, lookee that, my birthday is coming up. If you’re looking for a gift suggestion, how about a new home?

Zeba’s thoughts: This is huge! For one day only, you can adopt a dog or cat (including puppies and kittens) for free! It’s part of the 2017 Tour for Life, which consists of four Mobile Pet Adoption Units visiting the Citizens for Animal Protection facility from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.

Citizens for Animal Protection is hosting the event with North Shore Animal League America. The event is sponsored by Purina pet foods and West Houston Suburu. There will be a bake sale, discounts on pet supplies and Purina giveaways. So come out alone and maybe return home with a new buddy.

The Tour for Life is visiting 54 cities in 32 states. For information, click on animalleague.org.

Beatles fan: Here’s something different for Beatles fans. A stage production called “In My Life — a Musical Theatre Tribute to the Beatles” is coming to the Hobby Center. The hits keep on coming, starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

This is the Beatles’ story told through the eyes of the band’s manager Brian Epstein. The “voice” of Epstein narrates the story behind important moments, while the band Abbey Road performs the Beatles greatest hits live, from their performance on “The Sullivan Show” in 1964 to their famous “rooftop concert” in 1969.

The Cinco Ranch High School String Quartet will accompany Abbey Road on five ballads.

I can’t wait to hear what Epstein thought about the songs “Revolution” and “Blackbird” from the Beatles’ so-called “White Album” from 1968. Epstein died in 1967.

Tickets to “In My Life” are $33- $64, plus those beloved service fees, available online at thehobbycenter.org, by phone at 713-315-2525 or the Hobby Center Box Office.

?? Citizens for Animal Protection ?? Zeba will be available for adoption at 11 a.m. Friday at Citizens for Animal Protection, 17555 Interstate 10 W. More information: cap4pets.org or 281-497-0591.
