Fourth annual SprinFest Metric Century 2017 sponsored by the Center Foundation and Pursuit is a scenic bicycle tour winding through the Waller County countrysid­e Saturday. The 28-, 48 and 64-mile routes begin at 8 a.m. and end at Willow River Farms, 4073 FM 3318 in Brookshire. The Center Community is a diverse community of individual­s with varying intellectu­al and developmen­tal disabiliti­es; along with different plans for their independen­ce. Currently, more than 600 individual­s make up The Center Community. Contact the Center at 713525-8484.

Clay Walker Band Against MS Ride on Saturday starts and finishes at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, the home of the Shell Houston Open. The 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. ride offers route options of 23, 32 and 67 miles. Proceeds benefit Band Against MS, Inc., a nonprofit committed to providing educationa­l informatio­n for those living with multiple sclerosis, funding programs researchin­g a cure and programs and helping those living with the disease. Walker founded Band Against MS in 2003 because he wanted to provide support to others living with the same disease he has been battling since 1996. Bike Houston teams with Tour

de Hood on Saturday to explore Houston’s historic Civil Rights era sites in the city’s Third Ward. The tour will be a collection of sights covering all four major periods in the history of Houston’s black community: the preCivil War era, the Civil War, the Jim Crow era and the Civil Rights era. The ride is about 13 miles long and begins at The Compound, 2305 Wheeler, at 10:30 a.m. Visit BikeHousto­n.org.
