LUCILLE WILLINGHAM

1923-2017

-

Miriam Lucille Willingham died 3/24/17, at age 93, secure in her faith to see Jesus & departed loved ones. She leaves 2 sons & daughters-inlaw: Ron & Marianne, Bryan & Donna, 3 grandsons Jason, Daniel, & Russell, their wives & 14 great-grandchildren.

Born 10/16/23 in Glen Rose, Texas, she was the last remaining child of John and Lottie Mason who reared 9 kids on cotton farms around Snyder & Burkburnett, where Lucy graduated high school.

After sewing hand grenade patches on service in WWII, she obtained a beautician’s license & worked with her sister in Wichita Falls. Here she met Ervan Willingham.

In 1948 she moved to Pasadena, Texas & married Ervan. Ervan died in 2006. They attended South Main Baptist Church in Pasadena over 50 years, raising their sons there. She also worked as an aid in the early days of Special Education in the Pasadena School District.

Family was absolutely foremost, & Lucy showed her love by cooking 1000’s of meals & attending 100’s of ball games. She loved sharing her candy & baking recipes & will be remembered by friends & family alike as the loving Christian example she strove to be.

A visitation will be held Monday, March 27 from 5-8pm at Grand View Funeral Home with A Celebration of Lucy’s life on Tuesday, March 28 at 10am at Grand View with internment to follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
