Harden escapes injury scare

-

Rockets guard James Harden took a hard fall on a drive in the final minute Sunday, aggravating his sore left wrist.

But he said he would play Tuesday against the Golden State Warriors at Toyota Center.

“I’m good,” Harden said.

Harden had played the second half Sunday with the wrist wrapped, as he had throughout last Monday’s game against the Denver Nuggets.

He fell in Denver on March 17 while attempting to block a Mason Plumlee shot.

“The Denver game, he fell on it,” coach Mike D’Antoni said. “He was thinking New Orleans (on Friday) he was iffy to play.

“It’s something he’s probably going to have to put up with the rest of the year. It’s a tendon. He jammed it.

“Hopefully, he’s good. If he needs to rest, he’ll rest and make sure he gets well, but knowing him, he wants to play.”

Harden has not missed a game with an injury in the past three seasons.
