UH extends win streak to 10

IRVINE, Calif. — John King tossed his third complete game in four starts, Connor Wong went 4-for-5 with an RBI, and the University of Houston beat UC Irvine 7-3 on Sunday to complete a three-game sweep and stretch its winning streak to 10 games.

King allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and three walks to improve to 4-0 for the Cougars (18-5).

Spencer Halloran went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs as the Huskies (11-11, 3-3 Southland) beat the Lions to sweep a three-game series at Husky Field.

Travis Jones drove in three runs, and the Longhorns (17-10, 3-3 Big 12) edged the Wildcats to complete a three-game sweep in Austin.

Brian Howard struck out nine over seven strong innings, and the No. 3 Horned Frogs (17-5, 5-1 Big 12) beat the No. 21 Cowboys to cap a three-game sweep in Fort Worth.
