Lonnie Frank Hamrick, 72, went to be with his Savior and Lord on Friday, March 24, 2017. Lonnie was born on March 31, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Lonnie Carroll Hamrick and Vera Faye Westerman Hamrick. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Suzanne Anita Hamrick of 43 years, his brother James Edwin Hamrick and wife Donna of Splendora, Texas and sister-in-law, Shirley Hamrick of Waco, Texas and children Charlie Joel Shinall, Jr., Stacy Lynn Garrett, Rebecca Lynn Reeves and husband Mark, Lonnie Keith Hamrick and wife Tammy, eight grandchild­ren, William Michael Wylie, Jr., Corey Joel Shinall, Alexandra Joan Bracht, Christine Anita Lehmann, Taylor Nicole Hamrick, Lonnie Keith Hamrick II, Douglas Wayne Garrett, Jr., Jessica Lynn Garrett, and two great grandchild­ren, Marcus James Obledo and Alexis Rebecca Wylie as well as many deeply loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Shawna Marie Hamrick, grandson Steven Robert Bracht, sister, Carol Louise Owens, brother Ivan Wayne Hamrick and parents Lonnie Carroll and Vera Faye Hamrick. He grew up in Houston, Texas and was a lifelong member of Port of Houston Baptist Church. His parents moved to New Caney, Texas where he finished high school at New Caney High School as an honor student and captain of the football team which became his favorite sport for life.

He retired from the Houston Fire Department after 30 years of service from fire station number 92 at the Houston Interconti­nental Airport.

He served as a Harris County Reserve Deputy Constable at Precinct 4 in Houston, Texas for 30 years representi­ng the Arabia Shriners in Company S and as president of the Arabia Shrine Law Enforcemen­t Unit.

He was a 46 year life time member of the Sam B. Crawford Masonic Lodge Number 1418 in New Caney, Texas. He was a member of Scottish Rite, York Rite and Arabia Shrine Center in Houston, Texas since 1977 where he had served as a Marshall of the Provost Guard Unit, and a member of the Arabia Hot Rods.

The family will be honored by the Pall Bearers: Virgil Simpson, Ronnie Earnest, Donnie Moreau, Ruben Robles, Joel Parrish and Louis Dewey and Honorary Pall Bearers: Jerry G. Gantt, Joe Muirhead, Jim Owen, Glenn Paxton, Mark Muirhead and Jerry Parrish.

The family will receive friends for viewing and visitation Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 with a funeral service officiated by Bro. Dwain Pollard at 11:00 am in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home followed by a Masonic Graveside burial officiated by Sam B. Crawford Lodge Number 1418 in Brookside Memorial Park. A reception will immediatel­y follow at the First Baptist Church of North Houston at 4422 Lauder Road, Houston, Texas 77039 with food prepared by the famous Baytown Shrine Club.
