ROBERT “BOB” HARDEY III

Robert “Bob” Overton Hardey III passed away from this life on March 27, 2017. He was born May 10, 1929, in Shreveport, LA. to Georgia and Robert Hardey. He graduated from Reagan High School in 1948 and proudly served our country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy, stationed on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge. Bob and Evalyn Magna were married on August 29, 1951, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. The next chapter in their life was having 8 children over a 10 year span.

Bob went to work for G. E. Supply in 1954 and spent the next 63 years in the electrical industry with various companies, the last 15 years at All Current Electric. He made numerous friends and was well respected in business during his long career. He also had the pleasure of spending his last 4 years with his companion, Janet Segarra. Bob loved his beach house in Galveston, sports, cigars, TVs, and his cars.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Evalyn, his parents, his brother Ralph Hardey, his sister Patricia Orcutt, and his son Donald Hardey.

Survivors include his brother Roger Hardey; sisters Kay Nagel and Sue Caldwell; daughters Cindy Wilson & husband Bill, Sandy Dominy & husband John, and Linda Riley; daughter-in-law Jo Ann Hardey; sons Tom Hardey & wife Cary, Rick Hardey & wife Caprice, John Hardey & wife Pam, and Jimmy Hardey & wife Trini; 13 Grandchild­ren & 12 GreatGrand­children.

The family will receive friends at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 on Saturday, April 1st at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum, Houston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Associatio­n, and CanCare.
