The Woodlands has strong field

An elite field will compete in the Memorial Hermann Ironman North American Championship on Saturday morning in The Woodlands.

The men’s field boasts 12 Ironman winners, including Texas course recordholder Matt Hanson.

The women’s field, which has four past Ironman winners, is led by Jacelyn McCauley, who will be looking for her third Ironman title.

The event, which includes a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bicycle ride and 26.2-mile run, begins at 6:25 a.m. Saturday.
