Doretta Lynn (Jones) “Dodie” Winn passed away in Marquez, Texas on April 21, 2017, at the age of 58. Dodie was the daughter of Armond Jones and Darla (Branch) Jones and was born in Roswell, New Mexico on February 1, 1959. She was preceded in death by her father. She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandparen­ts, “Mawmaw” Dorothy Jones and “Pappaw” Andrew Clark “A.C.” Jones.

Dodie was a loving mother and wife, a successful business woman, an excellent cook and most of all, a doting grandmothe­r. Her hobbies were cooking and shopping. She enjoyed cooking large homestyle meals for her family and friends. Dodie began her career in the health field and went on to manage the Hand Center, a world-wide surgery center. After 20 years, she retired to spend more time with her beloved grandchild­ren. She and her husband lived in the Woodlands before moving to Marquez.

Dodie was a true believer in God and all that He could do. She will be missed by her family, many friends and by all who were blessed to know her.

Dodie is survived by her loving husband, Jack “Bubba” Winn; her beloved and only son, Christophe­r John Miller and her cherished grandchild­ren, Colton John Miller, Cate Evelyn Miller and Cambry Elenor Miller; her mother,Darla Whittinghi­ll; sister, Delora Schneider and her husband, Erich; brother, Keith Jones and his wife, Jean; her life-long best friend, Dee Winn and many nieces and nephews. “Rest in peace, honey.”

Funeral services for Dodie Winn are set for Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 1 PM at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in Centervill­e, Texas. Rev. Lance Winn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Marquez Cemetery. A brief time of visitation is scheduled at the funeral home from 11 AM until 1 PM on the same day as the funeral service.
