Lucille M. Fifer Brown entered Eternal Rest on May 2, 2017 at the age of 97. She was born in Boley, Oklahoma to Lucy and Richard Edward Fifer Sr., both preceded her in death. Her husband of forty-four years Connie Mack Brown and their son Daniel Maurice Brown also preceded her in death. Lucille graduated from Cheatham High School in Clarksvill­e,Texas and earned a Bachelors Degree from Prairie View A&M University. Her post graduate studies were done at University of Arizona, University of Southern California (Los Angeles), University of Denver, and University of Houston. She was an educator who began her teaching career in Yuma, Arizona School District where she taught at Carver Elementary. Her career continued in Houston,Texas teaching at several schools in the Aldine Independen­t School District for twentyeigh­t years. Survivors include granddaugh­ter, Danielle Brown, Daughter-in-law Shelia A. Brown: Nephew Edward L. Fifer: Niece Jacqui Fifer; Her adopted family: Barbara McPherson Brown, Rev. Willie D. McPherson (Linda), Arlene McPherson Clark (Rev. Leroy),The Ricks Siblings and other relatives and friends. Visitation is on Wednesday May 10, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM with Funeral services beginning at 10:00 AM. Both services at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 4730 Pederson Street. Interment Houston National Cemetery (V.A.). In lieu of flowers Lucille’s family would welcome monetary donations in her name to: Hoxie Perry, Jr. Scholarshi­p Fund Mount Moriah Baptist Church at 4730 Pederson Street Houston, Texas 77033.
