Warriors rout Jazz to complete sweep

SALT LAKE CITY — Stephen Curry scored 30 points, and the Golden State Warriors completed a second-round sweep of the Utah Jazz with a 121-95 victory Monday night.

The defending Western Conference champions have won both their series in four games and now await the winner of the Rockets-Spurs series that is tied at 2-2.

The Warriors kept pace with defending champion Cleveland in what has appeared like an inevitable third straight NBA Finals matchup. Both teams are 8-0 thus far.

Golden State led 39-17 at the end of the first quarter Monday after an onslaught from Klay Thompson and Curry.

Thompson finished with 21, Kevin Durant scored 18, and Draymond Green posted his third career postseason tripledoub­le with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 25 points.

Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry said he will opt out of the final year of his deal and test free agency this summer. The three-time All-Star has one year and $12 mil- lion left on the four-year, $48 million contract he signed in July 2014. … A few hours after the Washington Wizards ended the Atlanta Hawks’ season on April 28 — beating them 115-99 in Game 6 of the playoffs — Hawks center Dwight Howard was pulled over by police in Dunwoody, Ga., for speeding and driving on a suspended registrati­on and without insurance A few minutes later, an officer had the eight-time NBA All-Star’s car towed. … Forward Rudy Gay has informed the Kings he still plans to opt out of the final year of his contract and become an unrestrict­ed free agent, according to league sources.
