Betty Jean Eubank, age 84, died Thursday May 18, 2017 after a long battle with kidney disease.

Betty was born November 5, 1932 in Galveston, TX to Ivan and Helen Simokovic. She grew up in Southeast Texas and married her High School sweetheart, Gates Eubank.

While raising children Betty went to San Jacinto College and earned her degree in nursing. Betty worked in emergency medicine as an RN for over 20 years. After retiring from nursing Betty worked in needlepoin­t shops and became an expert at needlepoin­t, most of her works contained butterflie­s, she loved butterflie­s.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Henry “daddy boy” Pipes, her daughter, Katherine, her son, B.G., and the love of her life, Gates Eubank. She is survived by two daughters, Helen Pankau and her husband Robert of Wesley Chapel, Florida and Esther Spencer and her husband Don of Houston, Texas, and two granddaugh­ters, Lauren Pankau of Garden Grove, California and Sara Spencer of Lubbock, Texas and after being “lost” for many years, her half-brother, Robert Simokovic and his wife Terri of Newberg, Oregon.

Betty will be cremated and her remains buried next to her husband in Silsbee, Texas where they met and fell in love.
