Larry Folloder passed away on May 21, 2017 after a longfought battle with a variety of illnesses. He was preceded in death by his birth mother - Evelyn Ruth Cherkas Folloder, his father – Harry Folloder; Muriel Phillips Folloder, his step-mother; and his first wife - Mary Folloder. He is survived by his wife - Linda Katz Brandt Folloder; his children - Scott Folloder, Jeff Folloder and his wife Penny Folloder; his grandchild­ren - Ryan, Sean, Zoe and Ashleigh; his brothers - Mark Folloder and Brian Folloder and their families as well as his extended family (Jack and Cari Brandt, Ryan and Morgan Brandt, Elyse Brandt, Monica Brandt Lewis and Robert and Noah). He also leaves behind many wonderful friends that he truly adored.

Larry served honorably in the United States Army as an officer after attending the University of Texas. Larry was also a leader of the food industry for decades in the Houston area, and proudly served the Houston community in a host of charitable and congregati­onal roles. He was passionate about his sports, and was a season ticket holder to UT football and Houston Rockets basketball for many years.

Larry Folloder was a story teller. For as long as anyone could remember, he was always able to weave a tale or spin a yarn that would bring a smile. No matter the time or place, he always had a story for you. His family and friends were his life, but his passion was sharing his stories.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in the Beth Yeshurun Post Oak Cemetery, 1037 N Post Oak Rd, Houston, Texas 77055. Rabbi Rosen, Rabbi Segal and Rabbi Strauss will officiate.
