Report tracks scrap recycling’s local impact

Recycling scrap materials supports 8,214 jobs in Houston and has a $2 billion economic impact, according to a new report from the Washington, D.C.-based Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries.

The report assessed industry impacts in states and cities across the country.

It also found that scrap recycling paid $6.1 million in annual wages in Houston.
