When: Monday TV: ESPN The network will televise three games nationally on Memorial Day — Yankees at Orioles at noon, Nationals at Giants at 3 p.m. and Tigers at Royals at 6 p.m. The Astros will play at Minnesota at 1:10 p.m. on Root.
Coca-Cola 600
When: 5:20 p.m. Sunday TV: Root Established to compete with the Indianapolis 500 on Memorial Day weekend, the race at Charlotte Motor Speedway has become one of NASCAR’s most prestigious events. Martin Truex Jr. will attempt to defend his title.
Indianapolis 500
When: 11:20 a.m. Sunday TV: ABC Like many sporting events considered iconic two or three decades ago, the race still has name value. But except to followers of the IndyCar Series, most of the racers aren’t very recognizable to the average sports fan.
Dean & DeLuca Invitational
When: Friday-Sunday TV: Golf Channel (Friday), CBS (Saturday, Sunday) The title sponsor notwithstanding, this is still the Colonial in Fort Worth. Defending champion Jordan Spieth missed the cut last week at the Byron Nelson in Irving but hopes to do better a few miles down the turnpike.
Texas A&M at Tennessee
When: Friday-Sunday, TV: ESPN2 After losing two of three in a regularseason SEC series at Knoxville, the Aggies hope to turn that around in a best-ofthree NCAA super regional softball series at Tennessee. Friday’s and Saturday’s games are on ESPN2, a Game 3 on Sunday would be on ESPN.
Dynamo at FC Dallas
When: 7 p.m. Sunday, TV: FS1 The Dynamo have yet to win on the road, dropping from first to third in the MLS. This would be a good night for them to play well outside the friendly confines of BBVA because rival FC Dallas is one place ahead of them in the standings.
NFL Top 100 countdown
When: 8 p.m. Monday TV: NFL Network The network’s unveiling of its annual list of the best 100 players in the league today continues. In this installment, they will be counting down from No. 50 to No. 41.
Stanley Cup Final
When: 7 p.m. Monday TV: NBC The NHL’s championship series between the Predators and either the Penguins or Senators, who met in Game 7 on Thursday night, begins in Pittsburgh or Ottawa. Nashville, which joined the league before the 1998-99 season, is making its first appearance in the Stanley Cup Final.
NBA Finals
When: 8 p.m. Thursday TV: ABC Golden State easily dispatched San Antonio in the Western Conference finals, then had to wait for Cleveland — most likely — to finish off Boston in the East. Game 5 — with the Cavaliers up 3-1 — ended after this edition went to press.
