Rose C. Ramirez of Houston, Texas-beloved wife, mother, grandmothe­r, great grandmothe­r, aunt, and sister, departed Friday, May 26, 2017 at home. Rose (known as Rosie) was born April 12, 1928 in San Marcos, Texas to Hercules Canales and Anita Morales. She was fifth of ten children.

Despite managing a busy household of a husband and four children, she was capable of having a career in children’s education. The family spent many wonderful weekends at their farm in Cleveland. Rose and husband retired there and she excelled in her gardening skills.

Rose is preceded in Death by her parents, husband; Tony v. Ramirez, son; Raynoldo Ramirez, grandson; Wesley, and granddaugh­ter; Amber.

She is survived by sons; Robert Ramirez and Jerry Ramirez, and wife; Angela, daughter; Sandra Woodruff, and spouse Ed, grandchild­ren; Kurt and his beloved Amanda, Sandy and Jessica, great grandchild­ren; Kayla, Kellee, Natasha, and Damien, sisters; Sarah Martinez, Woody Maylonas, and Rosemary Medina, God Son; Paul, and God Daughter; Melody.

A memorial service will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral home with Father Mario J. Arroyo of St. Cyril of Alexandria on Monday, June 5th at 10 am with a reception to follow.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks to Paige Lolly for all of her care and loving help during her last days.
