FRANK TAYLOR “CHIP” WEBSTER

Frank Taylor “Chip” Webster went to be with his Lord on Saturday, the 3rd of June 2017. He was 68 years of age.

Chip was born in Houston on the 23rd of October 1948 to his parents C. B. and Lavelle Jones Webster, who predecease­d him. He was also predecease­d by his sister, Claudette Webster Roush.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Elizabeth McKay Webster; his children, Frank Taylor Webster, Jr. (SPC-U. S. Army) and his wife Stephanie, Alison Webster Colvin and her husband Trey, Douglas McKay Webster and his wife Angie, Emily Webster Wahl and her husband Kolby, and William Richard Webster; grandchild­ren, Taylor Adair Colvin, Marshall Anderson Colvin, Rider Hawkins Colvin, Elizabeth Alleen Webster, and Alexander McKay Webster; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. He is also survived by godsons, John C. Elkins and David A. Kreston.

He attended Kinkaid School and New Mexico Military Institute and spent his summers working for Webster Drilling Company. He graduated from Texas Christian University Neeley School of Business in 1970 and received his Master of Business Administra­tion from TCU in 1972 where he served as a graduate assistant to his mentor, Dr. S. Allen Self, professor of management. Chip was also a graduate of the Southweste­rn Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University.

He joined First City National Bank of Houston as a management trainee in 1972 and served for 20 years in various corporate lending roles, including Executive Vice President of Energy and Corporate Banking. He had his own advisory firm, Webster & Co. and later joined Arthur Andersen, LLP where he was a partner in the energy corporate finance division. He and other Andersen associates joined Duke Capital Partners, a business unit of Duke Energy, where he served as EVP, President and CEO.

Chip joined Adams Resources & Energy, Inc. in 2004 where he served as President, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer and Director until 2015. He was also appointed as co-trustee of the estate of the company’s founder, K.S. “Bud” Adams, Jr.

Chip served in numerous civic, educationa­l and energy industry positions, including Trustee of Texas Children’s Hospital and The Kinkaid School and board member of the Tanglewood Homes Associatio­n. He chaired United Way campaigns at First City and Andersen. Chip also served on the board of directors and as president of the Houston Producers’ Forum and The Petroleum Club of Houston. He was a longtime member of Houston Country Club and St. Charles Bay Hunting Club. He was also a member of the Internatio­nal Board of Visitors of The Neeley School of Business at TCU and was a founding member and co-chair of the TCU Houston Business Network. Chip was a member of Second Baptist Church, where he served on the Pastor’s Prayer Team.

A memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Second Baptist Church, Woodway Campus in the Sanctuary with Dr. Ed Young officiatin­g.
