WILLIAM PATTERSON

1928-2017

William “Pat” Patterson, 89, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on June 10, 2017. He was born in Princeton, Kentucky on February 27, 1928 and was the son of Aubrey Brooks and Kathryn Childress Patterson.

Pat graduated from Kirkland High School in Kirkland, Missouri in 1946 and immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in December, 1949 and recalled in October, 1950. After discharge he came to Houston and attended the University of Houston.

Pat and Jan met in 1957 and were married in Houston in 1958. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on June 7, 2017.

Pat leaves behind his wife Janet Lytle Patterson; daughters, Sandy Patterson Burckle and husband Lee; Debbie Patterson; grandson, Chris Burckle; granddaughter, Lauren Burckle Guest and husband Taylor.

Visitation will be held on June 14, 2017 at 9:45 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 8200 Roos Road, Houston, Texas 77036, immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. A reception will follow the service at the church. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 8200 Roos Road, Houston, Texas 77036 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.
