She was a resident of San Antonio from early 1942 shortly after Pearl Harbor until October 2009 when she moved to Houston. She worked at Randolph Field during WWII as civilian clerk.

Her greatest passion was Volunteering. She was President of the Delphian Society (a National Organization that promoted the education of women in the United States). She was also active in her children’s school PTA, her church women’s organization, but her main love was the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary where she dedicated over 35 years serving in all capacities, including, Secretary, Treasurer & President. In her golden years she was an avid traveler – Russia, China, Panama Canal, Canada, Alaska and many other interest places. She was a joy to everyone who knew her. She believed in the rule that you treat people the way you want to be treated and she lived that rule every day of her life.

A special thanks to the care givers at the Isle at Kingwood that took great care of her during the time she lived there and especially during her final days.
