Walkoff HR gives Arenado cycle

DENVER — Nolan Arenado completed the cycle with a three-run homer off Mark Melancon in the bottom of the ninth inning, and the Colorado Rockies stunned the San Francisco Giants by rallying for a 7-5 victory Sunday.

Arenado, who tripled in the first, singled in the fourth and had an RBI double in the sixth, hit the first pitch he saw from Melancon into the left-field seats to finish a four-game sweep for the National League-leading Rockies.

DODGERS 8, REDS 7: Logan Forsythe and Justin Turner homered, and Kike Hernandez made a spectacular gamesaving catch at the left-field wall on what would have been a go-ahead eighth-inning hit for Joey Votto as Los Angeles completed a three-game sweep at Cincinnati.

RAYS 9, TIGERS 1: At Detroit, Logan Morrison homered twice to help Jake Faria join Jeremy Hellickson as the only Tampa Bay pitchers to win their first three career games.

BREWERS 2, PADRES 1: Jimmy Nelson fanned 10 in his first career complete game, and host Milwaukee got homers from Hernan Perez and Manny Pina to edge San Diego.

ROYALS 7, ANGELS 3: Jason Vargas earned his major league-best 10th win as Kansas City won at Los Angeles.

MARINERS 7, RANGERS 3: Kyle Seager drove in three runs with three doubles to lead Seattle past host Texas.

BRAVES 5, MARLINS 4: With his second walkoff single in as many days, Brandon Phillips drove in Johan Camargo from third in the ninth inning to push Atlanta past Miami.
