A quick-thinking woman’s decision to take a photograph of a suspicious man she encountered at a cemetery in Tomball led to the arrest of the prime suspect in a brutal attack at another cemetery in Montgomery County.

Charles Glaze, 52, was arrested about 6 p.m. Monday in the 9200 block of Sweet-bush in northwest Houston.

He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Glaze is accused of using a stun gun on a woman he encountered Friday at the Klein Memorial Park Cemetery in the 32500 block of Texas 249. The woman was then bound and gagged using zip ties and a men’s necktie, Montgomery County sheriff ’s deputies said.

She fought back and eventually managed to escape from the attacker, who tired from the fighting. She ran across the cemetery to a nearby Magnolia fire station and called for help.

Sheriff’s detectives interviewed cemetery employees who said the assailant’s car, a red Ford F-150, may have been involved in an earlier incident on May 14 at the Klein cemetery in Tomball.

Investigators said Glaze told both women that he was at the cemetery because someone he knew was interred there.

“We don’t know if that’s true or not, but that’s what he said,” Lt. Scott Spencer with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.

The woman at the cemetery in Tomball told investigators the man she later identified as Glaze made comments that caused her to “feel unsafe.” When the man walked away from her, the woman snapped a photograph of his vehicle — a red Ford F-150. The photograph also contained the license plate. She sent the photo to the cemetery officials who later passed it on to their staffers.

Sheriff’s detectives made a photo lineup of the registered owner. The women from both cemeteries identified Glaze as the man they had encountered, officials said.

Glaze remains in custody at the Montgomery County Jail where bond has not yet been set.
