DeAnne Hines Rogers, 68 years old, peacefully departed this life after a long illness on June 13, 2017 in Chicago, IL.

DeAnne was born the second daughter of five children to Avalon and Norman Hines on July 1, 1948 in Houston, Texas. DeAnne grew up in Houston, attended Kinkaid School, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. She attended Newcomb College of Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. She also completed a year at The University of Texas Law School. During her college years, she met Peter Rogers, her former husband of 32 years, and developed a lifelong circle of friends that have seen each other through all the joys and trials of life that have spanned five decades.

Following graduation, DeAnne establishe­d her profession­al career in Chicago in the corporate secretary’s office of Consolidat­ed Foods and the Household Finance Corporatio­n, eventually reaching the position of Assistant Vice President of Investor Relations. Later, she founded her own consulting practice, advising major corporatio­ns on the design and photograph­ic elements of their annual reports.

It was during this time that she developed a lifelong passion for photograph­y. DeAnne also dedicated time to the Junior League of Chicago, the Women’s Board of the Rehabilita­tion Institute of Chicago (now the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab), and the Newcomb College Board of Tulane University.

While the world will miss the glow of her shining personalit­y, the family and friends she leaves behind cherish the everlastin­g warmth she created in every heart she touched. She is survived by her son, Carter Rogers of Brooklyn, NY; her sister, Linda Jane DeFoy and her husband, Walter of Houston, TX; her sister, Marcia Hines Sidwa, and her husband, Tom of Austin, TX; her sister, Susan Elizabeth Savoy, and her husband, John of Mabank, TX. DeAnne is also survived by a nephew and many nieces, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

DeAnne is pre-deceased by her parents Avalon and Norman Hines of Industry, TX, her brother, Norman Hines Jr. of Industry, TX, and her nephew, David Williams, of Houston, TX.

Her family would like to thank all who supported her during her extended illness, including: her friends and circle of college friends (calling themselves Chi Rho), Maria Bernacka, Cicily Maton and Michelle Maton, Randi Israel, Carol Woodworth, and Dr. Eric Mizuno, whose kindness and support of DeAnne will always be remembered.

DeAnne will be laid to rest next to her parents and brother at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 15 at the St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Columbariu­m, 2310 Airline Drive, Brenham, Texas 77834. For more informatio­n, contact Memorial Oaks Chapel (979836-4564).
