The life of Brother David Fedrick exemplifie­s Psalm 37:23 which says that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. Dave owned Syscom Developmen­t, Inc. which grew to employ over 300 during its most prosperous years. He brought a sense of integrity and spiritual direction to his many leadership roles held at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Always civic minded and community engaged, many organizati­ons benefited from the benevolenc­e and generosity for which Brother Dave was known. In addition to Antioch Baptist Church downtown, these include: the Santa Maria Hostel (serving women in crisis); the United Way, the Sickle Cell Foundation, the Houston Minority Business Developmen­t Council, and establishi­ng the Palm Center Farmers Market, to name a few. A firm believer in giving back, Brother Dave enriched the lives of many through selfless devotion to God and community.

Along with his wife, Gwen, Brother Dave is survived by his children; Pamela Hogans and Duane Fedrick (Mary Angelina) of Atlanta, Georgia; Madeline Fedrick and Trevonne Fedrick of Houston; and Erika Carey of Dallas; six grandchild­ren, five great grandchild­ren and one brother, Charles Larry Fedrick of Akron, Ohio,. There will be a visitation on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 10am to 11am at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 500 Clay, Houston, Tx 77002. The funeral services will begin at 11am following the visitation at the Church. Pastor Charles Washington, Sr,, officiatin­g. The interment will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens.
