CYCLING
Tour de France fans can watch the final stages of the race this weekend at the Houston Bicycle Museum, 1313 Binz. Stage 19 from Briancon to Izoard is Friday. Stage 20 Marseille ITT (penultimate-day time trial) is Saturday, and Stage 21 from Montgeron to Paris (Champs-Elysees, flat, final stage) is Sunday. BikeHouston safety course is from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rice University Rec Center, Room 160A. Basic bicycle traffic skills, commuting tips, accident avoidance maneuvers and fun tips for a great ride will be taught by nationally certified safety instructors. After the classroom basics and some practice in the parking lot, the group will go for a five- to seven-mile ride through the neighborhood. BikeHouston Learn to Ride class is from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany United Methodist Church, 3511 Linkwood Dr. This “no-fall” method is a one-on-one class for all ages taught by certified League of American bicyclists. Classes are given as a two-part series, and participants are asked to sign up for a second one-hour class and will need to become members of BikeHouston. Visit bikehouston.org.

21st Annual Cowboy Classic Golf Tournament in memory of Angel Stone is a two-man scramble from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Magnolia Ridge Country Club in Liberty. The event is sponsored by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Houston Metro Go Texan Committee and the Liberty County Subcommittee. Eunice Bao, a 15-year-old incoming junior at Bellaire High School, will compete in the nationally televised projunior Pure Insurance Championships at Pebble Beach in September. Bao is one of 81 junior players chosen by Houston Golf Association’s First Tee of Houston and the Golf Channel. The tournament is an official PGA TOUR Champions event in which junior golfers from the First Tee play alongside PGA TOUR Champions players as well as amateurs. They compete for the pro-junior title at the Pebble Beach Golf Links and Poppy Hills Golf Course.

YMCA Kids Triathlon presented by Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands on Saturday benefits the YMCA annual campaign. The swimming, biking and running event is open to all levels of children six to 12. JPMorgan Chase & Co. presented a $10,000 check to the HTA National Junior Tennis & Learning program during the #ReturnTheServe Fun Day at Memorial Park Tennis Center last Friday. More than 100 children at the park played tennis, hit targets for prizes, received T-shirts and towels, Zumba danced, had lunch and participated in educational programs.
