Woodlands pastor is charged with prostitution
A pastor in Montgomery County has been charged with prostitution.
Eddie Hilburn, a pastor at The Woodlands First Baptist Church, was arrested Wednesday by the Harris County Sheriff ’s Office and charged with prostitution, authorities said.
The 52-year-old joined the church in July 2012 and was a senior pastor, according to the church’s website.
Hilburn was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly paid an undercover sheriff ’s deputy $80 for sexual activities, ABC 13 reported.
“We can assure you that a statement will be issued once all facts are known, and administration has had an opportunity to review them,” the church said in a statement. “We appreciate your patience in the meantime, and we continue to look to God for guidance.”
According to the church’s website, Hilburn is married with three adult children. He attended East Texas Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
