Sibling shot trying to end family argument

-

A 17-year-old boy was injured after being shot early Friday in the back by his older brother at a southeast Houston home.

The teen was woken up shortly before 2:30 a.m. when his two older brothers — believed to be in their 20s — came home after a night of drinking, said Lt. G. Macintosh with the Houston Police Department.

The older brothers got into an argument in the home in the 8400 block of Baker.

As the teen tried to break up the dispute, one of the older brothers grabbed a gun.

Police believe the brother was aiming at the older brother but instead shot the 17-year-old.

The bullet hit the teen in the back, Macintosh said.

The teen’s condition was not immediately clear.

Both older brothers were taken into police custody.
