Listen to the people

Regarding “Battle over control begins” (Page A1, Tuesday), Gov. Greg Abbott is bad for the Texas brand. His promise to establish a list of lawmakers who buck his priorities smacks of McCarthyism.

Abbott should note this is not Washington, D.C. This is Texas, with many voices and strong representation that speak for those who put Texas representatives in office. He should be listening to them, not the other way around. Kathleen Margolis, Houston
