Larry D. Coleman left this life for his eternal life with his lord and savior on July 22, 2017 after a brief illness.

He leaves behind to mourn his passing the love of his life his beloved wife of 45 years, Sherrye Minton Coleman; sons Alan Coleman, Dennis and wife Dana, and Darren and wife Crisanne; daughter Dee Ann Jarman and husband David; grandchild­ren Laura Andrade and husband Hugo, David Jarman, Jason Jarman, Zachary Coleman, Joshua Coleman, Celeste Coleman, Katie Coleman, and Carter Coleman; great grandchild­ren Aric and Ava Andrade; brother Jerry Coleman and wife Elizabeth “Beth”; sister Dolores Moss and husband Paul; sister-inlaw Regina Minton; uncles Earl Hyde and wife Jackie, Buddy Coleman and wife Betty; and numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends.

Larry was preceded in death by his father Lee Coleman, mother Dorothy Hyde Coleman, daughter Rebecca Coleman, and brother-in-law Charles Minton.

Larry worked in the electrical trade for over 54 years and the last 35 years were spent working with partner Kenneth Hodges as vice president of Texan Electric.

His passion from boyhood was building hot rods and he later began restoring vintage Corvettes and having them judged by NCRS. He not only enjoyed restoring and driving his cars, he relished talking about them with anyone who shared his love of cars. He was more than willing to share his knowledge with anyone who needed it and never hesitated to offer his physical help along with his tools and parts.

He was deeply loved by many and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A visitation will be held at 9 am Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 11 am with interment immediatel­y following at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will include David Jarman, Jason Jarman, Zachary Coleman, Joshua Coleman, Charlie Minton, and Jerry Coleman, Jr..
