Christian Brady Smith, 38, died in St. Louis, Missouri, on July 22nd, 2017.

Chris was born on September 11, 1978. He leaves behind his parents, Terry and Patty Smith of St. Louis, Missouri, and Houston, Texas; his brother Terry, Jr.; his sister Emily; and his paternal grandmothe­r, Anne Marie Smith. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathe­r, Donald Smith, and his maternal grandparen­ts, Arthur and Mary Carroll of Washington, DC. Chris was a much beloved Godson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.

In 1996, Christian graduated from Ladue Horton Watkins High School in Ladue, Missouri and enrolled in the University of Missouri system, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of MissouriCo­lumbia in 2000. Chris’s profession­al and personal interests included primarily music and the arts, and his work included serving as a guard at the Saint Louis Art Museum and as a member of several bands. An avid and skillful musician, Chris enjoyed playing the drums, bass guitar, electric guitar, and the violin. Throughout his adult life, Chris created music in many genres. Christian was a multi-instrument­alist, composer, and magician.

Chris was also an avid animal lover, rescuing and adopting fish, rabbits, lizards, and dogs as a child and adolescent. In his adulthood, Chris adopted and raised a rescue black Labrador, Polly, who misses him dearly.

Chris is loved and mourned by his family and friends. He was taken from the world too soon, though his family takes solace in knowing he is at peace.

Visitation at 9:00AM on Saturday, July 29th, Ste. Genevieve du Bois Church, 1575 N. Woodlawn Avenue, Warson Woods, Missouri, with Funeral Mass immediatel­y following at 10:00AM. Procession from the Church for burial.
