Charlotte Maluski, born in Camden, Arkansas on March 16, 1933 to Charlotte Reynolds Anderson and E. T. “Andy” Anderson, joined them and her husband of 52 years, Tony E. Maluski, Jr. (who first saw her on a parade float), and her youngest son, Robert Maluski, on August 3, 2017. Survived by her sons, Tony Maluski and partner Dr. Steve Milner, Nowell Maluski and wife Mary, Jeff Maluski and wife Carol, Daniel Maluski and husband Paul Tucciarone, daughter Beth Dawson and husband Dan; grandchild­ren Nowell Maluski Jr, Cory and Andrea Maluski, Kelleen Maluski and Brian Lisi, CJ and Larissa Maluski, Elese and Sam Grazak, Mary and Tommy Johnson, Christina and Zach Scheaffer, and Danielle Dawson; and great grandchild­ren Bailey, Makenzi, Harlee, William, Luke, Savannah, and Colt.

Charlotte was a proud and dedicated matriarch with constant involvemen­t in all of her children’s activities including sports and scouting as well as religious and academic education, often assuming a leadership role in those organizati­ons. Her children could always depend on her for support and advocacy.

Charlotte attended Tulane University and had a rich work history, starting with selling magazines and working for American Airlines in New York City prior to marrying Tony. Later she became an interior decorator and helped managed the family constructi­on company. Following the death of their son Robert, Charlotte and Tony establishe­d the Samaritan Ministry. Charlotte dedicated a great deal of time and energy over the last 25 years of her life to serving the sick, homebound, and grieving, touching countless lives through her kindness, compassion, and generosity. Charlotte was especially skilled at providing support to the grieving in her grief support groups; even after the Samaritans ministry formally closed she continued to offer a compassion­ate shoulder and wise council at St. John Vianney and St. Catherine’s Catholic churches.

The Maluski family will be present to receive friends Sunday, August 6, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM with a Vigil Rosary Service beginning at 3:00 PM at Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77079. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 7, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 10688 Shadow Wood Dr., Houston, TX 77043.
