Frank attended Concordia Austin when it was a high school and proceeded to Concordia Teachers College in Seward Nebraska. His college years were interrupte­d to serve 3 years with the US Army in the Pacific during WWII. After an honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant he returned to Concordia Seward. Upon graduation in 1949 he began teaching grade school at St Peter Lutheran on Houston Ave at Bingham where he was a student teacher 1947-48. With the exception of one year as a Corporal in a US Marine tank battalion during the Korean War, Frank taught until the schools were integrated and the St Peter School closed. In 1967 Frank began a second career as an Inner City missionary running outreach and community services programs based at St Peter. His third career with the City of Houston Health Department lasted until his retirement. In retirement Frank was an active volunteer in the community and at St Peter, including teaching Sunday School, something he started as a teenager in Austin. Frank married the lovely treasure Angelina “Angie” Jimenez in 1955. His love for her never faded after her death in 1999. Frank was predecease­d by parents Fortino and Nicolasa, siblings Luis, Jose “Joe”, Manuel, and Maria “Mary”. Frank is survived by daughter Rebecca “Becky”, son-in-law Marc, grandson Roberto “Beto” and son James, daughter-in-law Iris, grandsons Andres, Lucas, and Nicolas “Nico”. To honor Frank the family encourages you to support a local church or charity with your time, talent, and treasure. Visitation will be Friday, August 11, 2017, 5pm-8pm at Heights Funeral Home. Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, August 12, 2017, 11AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 800 Houston Ave., Houston, Texas 77007, Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
