Two young men have been charged with capital murder in the July 20 shooting deaths of two men whose bodies were found in a Tamina home last month, Montgomery County sheriff ’s detectives said this week.

Two others have been arrested in connection with the case but do not face murder charges.

Conroe residents Roman Pray, 18, Tomas Lizcano, 17, and Roddrick Jordan, 30, have been booked into the Montgomery County Jail, records show. Pray and Lizcano are charged with capital murder in the deaths of Jaquise Williams, 23, and Akeem Russell, 24.

Jordan is charged with aggravated robbery.

A 16-year-old male was arrested and was being held at the juvenile detention facility in Conroe but had not been charged with any crime. All were being held without bail.

“We do anticipate filing capital murder charges against (the juvenile) by the end of this week,” said County Attorney JD Lambright. “Given the nature of this crime, we will decide whether to seek to have the juvenile certified to stand trial as an adult. Additional investigation is necessary so we can fully understand the role the juvenile played in this brutal crime.”

While authorities declined to provide specifics about the shootings, sheriff ’s detective Keith Echols called the incident “a robbery gone bad.”

Echols told the Conroe Courier there probably would be additional arrests.

“We aren’t stopping with these four,” he said.

If Jordan is convicted, he could face 25 years to life in prison. Aggravated robbery typically carries five years to life, but due to Jordan’s criminal history, the range is enhanced to 25 years to life.

Records show Jordan’s criminal history in Montgomery County stretches back to 2006, when he was arrested for possessing cocaine. He spent two years in prison for that charge after breaking the rules of his community supervision.

He was arrested again in 2010 for possessing cocaine; after pleading guilty, he received a 90-day sentence.

In 2012, Jordan was sentenced to 180 days in jail after pleading guilty to aggravated robbery. That same year, he was arrested for illegally possessing a firearm as a felon and pleaded guilty again, getting another 180-day sentence.

He most recently was handed a six-year prison sentence in 2013 for possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute. A spokesperson with the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles could not be reached.

Lizcano and Pray have no criminal history in Montgomery County, records indicate.

Williams and Russell were found dead at a home in the 9600 block of Bimms Drive. Their bodies were discovered by family members who had not heard from them that morning. Williams’ 3-year-old daughter was found in the home uninjured.

Detectives believe Williams and Russell were shot about 3 a.m. July 20.

According to sheriff ’s detective Donna Rippley, investigators were given the names of several people who had been at the home the night before the shooting. She said they were able to rule out those individuals as suspects. However, on July 21, Rippley received information that led investigators to the suspects.

“I actually received information from a confidential informant in reference to the case, and they were able to provide names of individuals that were possibly responsible for this,” said Rippley.

Following interviews with Lizcano, Rippley said, detectives learned of Pray and Jordan’s alleged involvement.
