1958-2017

-

Karen Jean Ingram ascended on August 4, 2017, at 1:24 am CDT, surrounded by her devoted family and friends, after a courageous and graceful battle with breast cancer. She was 59 years old.

Karen was born in Oklahoma City, OK, on March 9, 1958, to loving parents Joe E. and Jane Wilkison Ingram. Her life’s journey led her through many pursuits, which included teaching English, transformational life coaching, and caring for others and their children. In 1990, she began her true calling as a devoted and dedicated mother to her daughter, Amanda, and in 1998, her son, Gabriel, who along with her adoring grandson, Fox, are her enduring legacy. Karen faced life’s many challenges with strength, bravery, and grace. She spent her last weeks laughing and loving with family and friends and looking forward confidently to her next chapter while reminding us all of the truly important things in life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her older sister, and is survived by her children, grandson, nephews, and a multitude of other beloved relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held on October 8, 2017, in Galveston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The PRASAD project, Ocean Conservancy, or The Office of Letters and Light.
