113 from Houston make list of fastest-growing companies

The number of Houston-based companies on a new Inc. 5000 ranking of the nation’s fastest growing private companies jumped to 113, up from 100 in 2016.

The magazine ranked privately held companies by revenue growth over the past three years.

Discount Power Texas kept its top spot among Houston’s fastest growers at No. 52. The retail energy provider grew its revenue by more than 6,000 percent to $98.1 million.

Discount Power Texas, which moved up from No. 80 last year, projects its revenue will rise further to $150 million in 2017, the company said. Next year, it plans to expand its service outside of Texas.

New York City had the most on the list with 355 companies earning a spot. Dallas-Fort Worth is home to 185 of the companies, with EnviroSola­r Power ranking No. 2. Austin had 91 of the fastest growers.

Among the Houston companies with the highest annual revenue are: BioCure Rx, with 225 percent growth to $112.2 million; Universal Plant Services, 188 percent growth to $460.5 million; Entrust Energy, 181 percent growth to $170 million; Alert Logic, 147 percent growth to $101.5 million; Arch-Con Constructi­on, 138 percent growth to

$225.3 million; Effex Management Solutions, 94 percent growth to $159.3 million; Kilgore Industries, 87 percent growth to $128.8 million; Netsync Network Solutions, 69 percent growth to $198.5 million; G&A Partners, 55 percent growth to $1.3 billion; and Baker Botts, 44 percent growth to $846.5 million.
