Mass of the Christian Burial for Wanda Lynne Burch, 77, of Zavalla, will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Monday, August 28, 2017 in the St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, with Reverend Joe Kannampuzh­a, celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Burch was born December 4, 1939 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of the late Beulah Germaine (Guidry) and Richard Mahlon Hanle. She passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017.

Mrs. Burch was a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r, great-grandmothe­r, and homemaker. She loved to travel and had traveled to all 50 states and some countries. She was a 1958 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. She loved her Ganders and her University of Houston Cougars. She had many friends that she kept in touch with in the Classes of 1958 and 1959 and attended all of her class reunions. She was a feisty person and full of life. She was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Mike Burch; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Evamarie Burch; daughter and son-in-law, Michaelene and Tim Morrison; grandchild­ren, William Smithson, Crystal Smithson, Jeannie Morrison, Bryanna Morrison and Johnathan Morrison; great-grandchild­ren, Crista Lopez and Davin Thomas; brother, Royce Hanle; brother and sister-inlaw, Randy and Teresa Hanle; sister, Roslyn Hanle; and a number of beloved nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burch was preceded in death by her brother, Mahlon Hanle.

Pallbearer­s will be Johnathan Morrison, William Smithson, Ralph Ugalde, Steve Smith, Thomas Derryberry and Stu Edwards.

Honorary pallbearer­s will be Roy Ugalde, Raymond Henderson, and Andrew Young.

If desired, memorial contributi­ons in Mrs. Burch’s memory may be made to the St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, 1611 Feagin, Lufkin, TX 75901.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to noon on Monday at Gipson Funeral Home.

The family asks that friends and family dress comfortabl­y when attending the funeral service.
