LESTER AUGUST LENERT

1922-2017

Mr. Lester August Lenert, age 95, passed away on Saturday September 2, 2017. Lester was born May 17, 1922 in Oldenberg, Texas and was one of four children and a twin to one brother.

Lester graduated from La Grange High School. Lester then served in the Air Corp of the United States Army during World War II reaching the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.

He had a long career in the Oil and Gas Industry, retiring as Vice President at the Galveston Houston Company. He traveled the world during his career and retirement.

Lester was preceded in death by his wife Bettye Lenert; son Wade Lenert; brother Leroy and wife Alice Lenert; brother Lloyd and wife Genelle Lenert.

Lester is survived by son Clifford and wife Judith Lenert; son Troy and wife Sharon Lenert; stepdaughter Linda and husband Steve Kramer; stepson Gary and wife Donna Kramer; sister Valora Smith; grandson Lance and wife Megan Lenert; granddaughters Melissa Lenert and Taryn Lenert; step grandchildren Kari Sams, Kelli Sams and Alexandra Kramer; great grandchildren Grace, Chloe and Oliver Lenert; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Lester will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77039. A funeral service and committal service will immediately follow.
