Indians notch 18th straight

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Indians stretched their franchise-record winning streak to 18 games, beating the Baltimore Orioles 3-2 on Sunday night behind homers from Francisco Lindor and Roberto Perez.

Cleveland’s streak is the longest in the majors since Oakland won 20 straight in 2002.

The Indians haven’t lost since Aug. 23 and have outscored opponents 121-32 in the streak.

YANKEES 16, RANGERS 7: Aaron Judge and Gary Sanchez each hit two solo homers as AL wild card-leading New York got a series clinching win at Texas.

BRAVES 10, MARLINS 8 (11): Lane Adams hit a two-run homer off Vance Worley in the 11th to give Atlanta a home win.

BLUE JAYS 8, TIGERS 2: Teoscar Hernandez hit his first two home runs of the season, and Toronto assured visiting Detroit of just its second losing season in a decade.

REDS 10, METS 5: Tucker Barnhart had a career-high five RBIs as Cincinnati rallied from a three-run deficit in the seventh to win at New York.

RAYS 4, RED SOX 1: Rick Porcello was dealt his leaguelead­ing 17th loss, the victim of poor run support once again as Tampa Bay won at Boston.

CARDINALS 7, PIRATES 0: Yadier Molina hit a threerun homer and tied a career high with five RBIs as St. Louis blanked Pittsburgh at Busch Stadium.

ROYALS 11, TWINS 3: Jason Vargas snapped a personal four-game losing streak with his career-high 15th victory, and Kansas City topped visiting Minnesota.

BREWERS 3, CUBS 1: Travis Shaw hit a two-run homer to back Zach Davies as Milwaukee completed a three-game sweep at Wrigley Field.

ANGELS 5, MARINERS 3: Justin Upton had a two-run double in the eighth inning to help Los Angeles avoid a sweep with a win at Seattle.

DIAMONDBAC­KS 3, PADRES 2: Paul Goldschmid­t homered on his 30th birthday and J.D. Martinez went deep twice to help host Arizona avoid a three-game sweep.

WHITE SOX 8, GIANTS 1: Jose Abreu hit two home runs and Carson Fulmer won his first major league game as a starter during Chicago’s victory over visiting San Francisco.
