Jo Ann Hazlett, died peacefully in her sleep, Sept. 1, 2017. She was 87 years old. Jo was born in Miami, Florida on January 10, 1930, the middle child of Bill and Alice Reynolds. She had two sisters, Jean and Joyce who predecease­d her.

Jo graduated from San Jacinto High School, attended Rice University and graduated from the University of Texas. She taught first grade in Montclair, New Jersey and later founded and ran Harris County Map Company, supplying Houston and regional maps to pharmacies, government organizati­ons and private companies.

Jo married Bill Hazlett in 1951 and they spent 65 years together until Bill’s death in 2016. Bill and Jo Ann were Charter Members of the Westbury United Methodist Church and leaders of the MYF. Jo was an active volunteer with the Brownies and Girl Scouts.

For the last five years, Jo was an active member of the Belmont Village community in Houston. She enjoyed the company of her fellow residents and all the activities available to her.

She will be missed by many. Jo is survived by daughter Kim Reid, her husband Bob Reid and her children Michael and Mark Rawls; son Greg Hazlett, his wife Pat Hazlett and their children Will and Wes Hazlett.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Westbury United Methodist Church, 5200 Willowbend Blvd, Houston, TX, 77096. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made either to the church or to a charity of your choice.
