Lloyd Anthone Geissen, 76, passed away on October 6, 2017, in Cypress, TX. Lloyd was born on November 15, 1940 in Houston, TX to Herman Geissen and Mildred Carpenter Geissen.

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy Reid Geissen; son Steven Geissen; daughter, Lisa Geissen Beitler (Joe); grandsons, Reid, Michael, Cameron; granddaugh­ter Katie; sister, Quana McCormick (Tom); a niece, several nephews and numerous cousins.

Lloyd graduated from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy in 1964. He was commission­ed as an officer in the U.S. Army and served 2 years active duty at Ft. Hamilton, Brooklyn, New York (1965-67)

When Lloyd returned to Houston in 1967, he began a 37 year career as a pharmacist. Lloyd’s customers relied on his expertise and came to him for his profession­al advice. In 2001, Lloyd retired. He loved traveling and spending time hiking in the Rockies, but more than the love of traveling was his love for his grandchild­ren. He spent many hours playing football, baseball, basketball and many other games with his “Grands”. Lloyd was a wonderful “Granddad.”

Visitation and rosary will be in the Chapel of Angels of Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 10th, 5pm-7pm, with rosary at 6pm.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, October 11th, 11am at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeiste­r, Houston, TX 77065. Father Sean Horrigan will officiate.

A reception will immediatel­y follow the service at the church. Burial will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery at 3:30pm.
