Flag displays

Regarding “Just keep the flag at half-staff ” (Page A15, Saturday), there will be no policy solutions to prevent future gun deaths. Leave all the U.S. flags at half-staff since there is no political courage to address gun violence in our country.

Our federal and state elected representatives just don’t care. There will be no imperative for action, moral or otherwise on gun control.

So leave the flags at half-staff. In fact, go ahead and legislate that the flag pole lanyards are shorter so the flag can only go to half-staff every day. At least that would be a meaningful process improvement that our elected representatives could then brag about when harvesting our votes. Tom Myers, Spring
