June Elon Foster, formerly of Houston, passed away October 25, 2017, in Kerrville, Texas, at the age of 84. Elon was born June 4, 1933, to Damon and Eleanor Brickley in Corpus Christi, Texas. Following graduation from Corpus Christi High School, she attended Del Mar College, where she performed as a majorette.

She married the love of her life, Frank M. Foster, who was a cadet at Texas A&M University, on October 14, 1950, in College Station. After their nuptials, the couple attended the Aggie football game against VMI at Kyle Field, and Elon always included the Aggie’s winning score of 52-0 in the retelling of the day’s activities.

During their 60-year marriage, Elon traveled the world with Frank, and the couple lived in Germany where Frank was stationed as an army officer. She loved playing bridge and completing crossword puzzles, and her grandchild­ren marveled at their hip Nonnie’s adoption of technology.

After losing their son in a car accident, Elon and Frank turned their tragedy into a way to help others by establishi­ng the Craig F. Foster ’78 Memorial Fund with the Texas A&M Foundation, which has grown to furnish four annual scholarshi­ps and support Parsons Mounted Cavalry.

Predecease­d by her parents, her beloved husband and son, Elon is survived by her daughters Dayna Foster DeLaVergne, Paula Foster and Leesa Foster; granddaugh­ters Melissa DeLaVergne Wright, and husband Truman, and Jennifer Garrett Hancock, and husband Keith; grandson Brian A. McGrath, and wife Elizabeth; great-grandsons Garrett Hancock and Grant McGrath; and great-granddaugh­ters Avery Noel McGrath, Madeline Kay McGrath, Reagan Elise Wright and McKinley Grace Wright; brother, Phil Brickley, and wife Meg, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville, Texas, on October 28 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to the Craig F. Foster ’78 Memorial Fund Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Dr., College Station, TX 77840 or Peterson Hospice, 1121 Broadway, Kerrville, TX 78028.
