CYCLING

Greater Houston Off Road Biking Associatio­n hosts the Carl Barton Trail Work Day in Conroe from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday. The Carl Barton Junior Park is at 2500 S. Loop 336 West in Conroe. Organizers report that roots need to be covered in some spots, trails need raking and signs need to be installed. Visit ghorba.org.

RUNNING

Olympians Zina Garrison and Carl Lewis host the 5K Walk for Health & Wellness benefiting the Zina Garrison Tennis Academy on Saturday. The walk begins at 9 a.m. in MacGregor Park, 5225 Calhoun Road. Contact 713-857-3241.

Skydive Ultra Saturday morning begins with a 13,500-foot parachute drop landing near Rosharon for an approximat­ely 3.5 mile run along grass paths through local farming fields. TENNIS

Ross Persons, tennis pro at the Houston Racquet Club, has been named captain of the Von Cramm Cup, which will compete in the 2017 Internatio­nal Tennis Federation Seniors World Team Championsh­ips, beginning Saturday through Friday in Miami Beach and Key Biscayne, Fla. The Von Cramm Cup is for men 60 and over. In all, more than 120 athletes from 34 countries are slated to compete in the 50, 55 and 60-and-over equivalent­s to Davis Cup and Fed Cup competitio­n. Other team members are Maxime Buyckx of Marietta, Ga., Sal Castillo of San Antonio and Tim Garcia of Santa Fe, N.M. The Von Cramm team was a finalist last year. The World Individual Championsh­ips will be held at the same location following the team competitio­n.
