Florida Atlantic stays perfect in C-USA

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Florida Atlantic squandered a 13-point first-half lead but rallied to become bowl eligible with a 30-25 victory over Marshall on Friday night.

The Owls extended their winning streak to five consecutiv­e games to remain the only Conference USA team with an unbeaten league record.

Florida Atlantic‘s Devin Singletary rushed for 203 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries. The sophomore topped 100 yards rushing for the seventh straight game and 200 for the second consecutiv­e game.

He also caught two passes for 72 yards and a touchdown.

“Obviously, exciting times for these players, for our university, all of our former players,” Florida Atlantic coach Lane Kiffin said. “Any time you do something that hasn’t been done before, as far as beating Marshall for the first time ever, this is about these players.”

The Owls (6-3, 5-0) have a two-game lead in the East Division standings as they continue the chase for their first Conference USA championsh­ip. The winning streak is tied for the longest in school history.

Four turnovers undercut Marshall (6-3, 3-2). Jalen Young tied an FAU record for intercepti­ons in a game with three.

Riley Ferguson completed 27 of 39 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns to help the No. 23 Tigers to a victory at Tulsa, Okla.

Darrell Henderson ran for 123 yards on 14 carries and had six receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown for Memphis (7-1, 4-1 American). The Tigers have won five straight games.

Luke Skipper completed 18 of 31 passes for 157 yards and had a touchdown run for Tulsa (2-8, 1-5).

Tyler Huntley passed for 234 yards and four touchdowns, and Zack Moss ran for 153 yards and two scores as the Utes rolled at Salt Lake City.

The Bruins (4-5, 2-4 Pac 12), played without quarterbac­k Josh Rosen, sidelined with a concussion. Utah (5-4, 2-4) outgained UCLA 506-249.
