Tom Hewett of Houston, TX passed away unexpected­ly on Sunday, November 5, 2017 while enjoying mountain time with his wife of 33 years, Cheryl Ann Richards Hewett, at their second home in Park City, UT.

While you could count on Tom to be fun, silly, irreverent and playful, he loved spending time with family and friends and could always be counted on to make sure everyone was having a good time. A master griller and mixologist, Tom had a passion for snow skiing, golfing and his yard. Tom loved watching all sports and played soccer while in high school and college. He even coached his kid’s sports teams while they were in high school.

Tom is survived by his wife Cheryl; his son, Philip Hewett of Norwich, CT; his daughter, Heather Eileen Hewett Clark and her husband Matt Clark and daughter Charlotte of Houston, TX; and his father James Hewett and his wife Marilyn Hewett.

Born March 31, 1962, Tom was a native of Overland Park, KS, and moved from Tulsa, OK to Houston, TX in 1979 with his parents and siblings. Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn “Kathy” Eileen Hewett who passed away in 2001. Tom is also survived by his sister, Eileen Marie Hewett Dalton of Austin, TX and her sons Luke and Connor; and his brother, Robert “Bob” Hewett of Austin, TX, his wife, Cristen Hewett, and their two children Coleman and Cameron.

Tom graduated from Cypress Creek High School, Houston, TX in 1980. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineerin­g from Tulane University in 1984. He is currently Global Director for Produced Water Treatment at Schlumberg­er.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, Texas 77056, In lieu of customary remembranc­es, the family requests that memorial contributi­ons be directed toward Saint Michael’s Church for The St. Vincent de Paul Society.
