Two men dead after minor crash turned into chase

Two men died after driving into a tree following a fender bender that sparked a car chase Saturday night in Houston’s Chinatown.

Trouble started when a Nissan and a Tahoe got in a minor crash at a Valero in southwest Houston, according to police.

Afterward, the Nissan driver sped off without waiting to exchange information, and the Tahoe driver followed in pursuit.

The Nissan swerved out of its lane and crashed into a tree around 7:15 p.m. in the 9200 block of Sandstone.

Both the driver and passenger died. Investigation determined the driver of the Tahoe was not involved in the crash.
