Our society

Regarding “Killer made threats, fled mental hospital” (Page A1, Wednesday), something has to be done about the recent tragedies that have occurred. Something is wrong with the way things are being done if someone can go to a church and kill innocent children.

We have to look into the social issues affecting our society. We need to help people coping with depression and anxiety and stop the abuse and mistreatment that people are affected by today.

We have an obligation to try to deal with those problems for the children who will make up the next generation. Ronald Peters, Pearland
