3 LISTEN TO PODCASTS

T his is the easy part.

Just go to the library in your app when you’re ready to listen, find the available episodes for the subscribed podcast, and tap to play one.

There are, of course, some options. Most apps will let you download an episode to your device before you listen, which lets you fire up a podcast even if you don’t have internet access. Some can be set to download new episodes automatically — just check your player’s settings.

Some of the additional features can be particularly useful. For example, the iOS app Overcast, as well as some others, can trim out longer silences, which shortens the time it takes a podcast to play. And BoxCast for iOS and Android can search a podcast’s audio for specific words.
