Janice Elaine Burg passed away November 12, in Fort Smith Arkansas. She was born December 10, 1936 in Denver Colorado to Frank and Dorothy Jamison. She attended Graland Country Day school and East high school and ventured across the country to attend the University of Missouri, where she graduated with a journalism degree in 1959. She married George Birks and moved to Houston, Tx in 1960 and had two children, Elizabeth and Michael. She used her journalism degree in many forms working for The Kinkaid school, Downtown Houston Associatio­n and Houston Symphony. She later married Frank Burg, the love of her life. She was an avid reader, bridge player and loved to work the crossword puzzle. Frank and Janice traveled and attended an array of activities for all of their combined Grandchild­ren. She was a 50yr member of The Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and was proud to share the sisterhood with her Mother and both Granddaugh­ters. After Frank’s passing she moved to Fort Smith. She is survived by her Children, Elizabeth Lange (Will) Ft Smith, AR, Mike Birks (Diana)Tyler, Tx. Grandchild­ren: Alexandra and Olivia Lange, Kindrah and Terrah Lampin. Her sister Linda Horton (Howard) Palisade, Co. Nieces and nephews: Kari Way, Kristi Green and Kameron Dole all of Colorado. Step children: Jimmy, Robert, David and Joan all of Houston and many many step Grand and Great Grandchild­ren. Services will be at Memorial Drive Presbyteri­an Church in Houston, Nov 18 at 10:00. Graveside services at Memorial Oaks immediatel­y following.
