Beth Ann Hayden Sharpe passed away November 11, 2017 at the age of 68. She was preceded in death by her father BG Carlos K. Hayden, PhD and mother Marguerite Christina Lind Hayden. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Alan Sharpe; sons: John Alan Sharpe, Jr. & MAJ Jeffrey Hayden Sharpe and his wife Amanda and their two children, Kylie and Hayden; her mom, Ann M. Hayden; brothers: Dr. C. Keith Hayden and wife Theresa and their children and grandchild­ren; Ran Blumberg; Richard Blumberg and his wife Linda; and numerous cousins, their children and grandchild­ren.

Beth was born in Columbus, OH but celebrated her first birthday in Houston. She attended Houston ISD schools: Peck Elementary, Cullen Jr Hi, and graduated from Jessie H Jones High School in 1967. Among other organizati­ons she was in the band and drill team. She grew up on the University of Houston campus and even took a typing class as a youngster sitting next to football players on a stack of phone books in her father’s typing class, as he was a professor in the Business Department. She earned her BS Degree from the University of Houston in 1971. In that same year she began her teaching career at Humble High School in the business department and worked at Prudential Insurance in the summer to fill in for those who were on vacation. Beth & John married in 1973 and she continued to teach at Humble High School where she was Chair of the Business Department which involved sponsoring the FBLA club, operating the student store, and running the concession stand for basketball games. She cherished her students and many co-workers she knew at Humble ISD. Beth was forced into disability retirement in 1999 because of the ravages of Multiple Sclerosis. She spent the last 14 years as a quadripleg­ic confined to her power chair and eventually to her bed. To the end she was alert and kept her caregivers in line.

Interment Friday, November 17th at 2pm, Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, TX Visitation to follow, 6-9pm at 25461 Ramrock Dr., Porter, TX 77365. Celebratio­n of Life Saturday, November 18th 10am Atascocita United Methodist Church, 19325 Pinehurst Trail Dr. Humble, TX 77346.
