San Luis Resort gets visitors into spirit of the season
In preparation for the holidays, The San Luis Resort, Spa & Convention Center has transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with festive decorations certain to get guests in the spirit of the season. Visitors can join the hotel on Galveston Island for an array of holiday events.
On Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, The San Luis Resort will offer a chefcurated brunch buffet featuring holiday classics like oven-roasted turkey and carved honey-cured ham, breakfast favorites, decadent seafood, prime meat cuts, bottomless mimosas and bloody mary’s, a kids’ buffet, and more. Each buffet is priced at $65 for adults, $60 for seniors and $30 for children ages 4-12. Seating times are available between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
More holiday magic awaits visitors on Saturday, Dec. 9, and Saturday, Dec. 16, as holiday carolers fill the lobby with songs of the season from 3-6 p.m. Cookie-decorating lessons also will be led by the resort’s expert culinary staff. The entire family is in for a special treat as the resort hosts a Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 17, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Children of all ages and their families are welcome to enjoy a festive, fun-filled morning with old Saint Nick. Breakfast with Santa is priced at $17.95.
Visitors can celebrate the new year at “Puttin’ On The Ritz,” Galveston’s premier fete (party) hosted by The San Luis Resort on Sunday, Dec. 31, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom. Executive resort chef Phillip Bouza continues the tradition of an award-winning fourcourse culinary feast and a generously hosted premium bar.
Entertainment will be provided by Password Band, a Houston group that plays a wide variety of music, including smooth jazz, soft favorites, disco, R&B, Top 40, Latin and country. The celebration event is priced at $209 per person and includes a four-course meal, party hats and favors, a champagne toast, and balloon drop at midnight. For those who want to truly dance the night away, the resort offers special overnight packages, such as the San Luis Celebration package including overnight accommoda- tions and two extravaganza event tickets, starting at $650 per couple.
